If I am driving between Queens and the FDR Drive using the Queens Midtown Tunnel or the Queensboro Bridge, will I be charged a toll?

Vehicles traveling between the FDR Drive and Queens are subject to a toll if their trip involves using Manhattan streets rather than staying exclusively on highways.

Queens Midtown Tunnel:

  • Vehicles traveling between the FDR Drive and the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be charged a toll because this route requires driving on Manhattan streets, which are within the tolled zone.
  • However, vehicles taking this route receive a crossing credit. This credit is applied against the cost of the congestion pricing toll, reducing the overall toll amount.

Queensboro Bridge:

  • Vehicles traveling between the FDR Drive and the Queensboro Bridge are charged a toll, as this route typically involves entering the tolled zone.
  • An exception is made for vehicles traveling from Queens to the Upper East Side using the Upper Level of the Queensboro Bridge. This route exits onto 62nd Street, which is outside the Congestion Relief Zone, and therefore does not incur a toll.
