2. Create an account: Open the app and sign up by providing your email address and creating a password.
3. Add your vehicle information: Enter your vehicle’s license plate number and the state where it’s registered.
4. Set up payment method: Add a valid credit or debit card to your account for automatic toll payments.
5. Deactivate old accounts: Cancel or remove your vehicle from any existing toll payment accounts (e.g., E-ZPass, SunPass) to avoid potential double charges.
6. Remove existing toll tags/transponders: Take out any toll tags or transponders from your vehicle, including those in the glove compartment or trunk. NextPass won’t work properly if these are present.
7. Wait for activation: Your vehicle should be activated in the NextPass system within seconds. Check for an “Active” status on your vehicle’s details page in the app.
