Can I use my NextPass account for personal and rental cars?
Absolutely! You can use the same NextPass account for both personal and rental cars. NextPass allows you to register multiple vehicles under a single account, making it convenient to manage toll payments for different vehicles without needing separate accounts.
To use your NextPass account with a rental car, simply add the rental car’s license plate number to your existing account, mark it as a rental vehicle, and set your rental car period for when you will be utilizing this rental car. This enables the tolling agency to recognize the vehicle and charge the appropriate tolls directly to your NextPass account as you drive through tolls.
Please note:
1. If you setup your rental vehicle as a personal car, you are responsible for deactivating the rental car from your profile at the end of the rental period. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for any tolls associated with that vehicle license plate until the vehicle is deactivated from the profile. This is why we recommend only adding rental vehicles in the rental vehicle portal of the website/app. If you properly setup the rental vehicle through the rental portal, NextPass will automatically deactivate the rental vehicle from your profile at the date and time you specify your rental period will end.
2. Rental car coverage is NOT available in Texas.
