How does NextPass work?

NextPass is a revolutionary toll payment solution that simplifies your driving experience. Here’s how it works:
  • First, download the NextPass app or create an account on the NextPass website by entering your email address, vehicle information, and a payment method. Once your account is set up, you’re ready to hit the road. As you drive through free-flowing toll lanes, the tolling agency captures an image of your license plate. NextPass then processes this information and automatically charges the toll to your account.
  • There’s no need for transponders, prepayments, or monthly subscriptions. You only pay for the tolls you use when you use them. The app doesn’t need to be open while you’re driving, and you don’t even need to have your phone with you. Within 3 to 30 days after your trip, the toll charge will be posted to your account and automatically paid using your registered payment method.
  • NextPass currently supports toll roads in 18 states, including major regions like Virginia, Texas, and Florida. It’s designed for use on free-flowing toll roads and express lanes, but please note that it doesn’t work with gated toll booths. For your convenience, you can register multiple vehicles to a single account and easily track your toll usage through the app or in your online portal.
