If I enter the Congestion Relief Zone via a tolled tunnel, am I required to pay the Congestion Relief Zone toll in addition to the tunnel toll?
Yes. You are required to pay the Congestion Relief Zone toll even if you enter through a tolled tunnel. However, you will receive an MTA crossing credit that reduces the amount of the Congestion Relief Zone toll. This credit is only applicable during peak periods, which are Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The amount of the MTA crossing credit varies based on the type of vehicle and whether the tunnel is tolled in one or both directions. *Please note, NextPass customers will receive the crossing credit in the form of a refund back to their original form of payment.
For full details about toll rates, please see the full toll rate schedule.
